Trying to balance home life, meal planning, and organization often feels like a never-ending to-do list. That’s why Finding Time to Fly instantly felt like a blog I could actually use. Melisha, a mom of four and a pastor’s wife, has created a space full of stress-free strategies for managing a home while still making time for what really matters. I spent time exploring her content and found myself bookmarking tip after tip—because they’re not just ideas, they’re solutions that make life easier.
Meet Melisha: The Heart Behind the Blog
Melisha doesn’t just write about homemaking—she’s living it every single day. Managing a household of six means she knows what it takes to keep things running smoothly without spending every waking moment cleaning or cooking. Her blog feels like chatting with a friend who’s figured out how to simplify the chaos.

Cleaning Without the Stress
No one wants to spend their entire day cleaning, and thankfully, Melisha’s approach makes it manageable. Her guide on 10 cleaning tools caught my eye because, let’s be honest, sometimes you just need to get things decent in a hurry.
For longer-term solutions, I found myself scrolling through her cleaning tips and picking up smart ways to stay on top of things without letting chores take over my life. These aren’t complicated systems—they’re practical routines that fit into a busy schedule.
Meals That Save Time and Effort
Figuring out what to cook every day is one of my least favorite tasks, so I was relieved to find Melisha’s low-carb recipes that actually look filling and flavorful. No boring meals here—just practical, easy-to-make dishes that don’t require hours in the kitchen.
Handy Printables for Organization
I’m someone who thrives on lists, so when I saw Melisha offers printables in her shop, I had to take a look. Whether it’s meal planners or home organization checklists, these downloads are designed to keep life on track without making things more complicated.
Stay Updated with the Newsletter
For those who want extra tips and exclusive content, Melishan’s newsletter delivers, free meal planners available in 6 colors, and recipes straight to your inbox. I signed up because, honestly, who doesn’t want practical advice delivered without having to search for it?
A Few Ways the Blog Could Expand
Melisha has built an incredibly useful resource, but if I could make a few suggestions, here’s what I’d love to see:
Short Video Tutorials – Watching a quick cleaning or meal prep video would make her strategies even easier to follow.
Community Engagement – A dedicated Facebook group or discussion forum could bring readers together to swap tips and ideas.
Bundled Printables – Themed packs (like holiday planners or weekly meal kits) would make staying organized even simpler.
What I love most about Finding Time to Fly is how practical it is. There’s no pressure to do everything perfectly—just simple, effective ways to make life a little easier.
To get a deeper look, we connected with Melisha through an email interview with our social manager, Tara. She shared her thoughts on time management, meal planning, and more. Read on for her insights into balancing it all.
Tara: Balancing life as a wife and mom of five must be quite the adventure! What inspired you to start Finding Time To Fly, and how has your personal journey influenced the content you share?
Melisha: Finding Time To Fly started as a creative outlet for sharing recipes and decorating ideas. It quickly attracted an audience of busy families, who continue to inspire me to create easy weeknight dinner recipes and simple seasonal decor.
Tara: Meal planning can be a game-changer for busy families. Can you share some of your favorite quick dinner recipes or meal planning techniques that have become staples in your household?
Melisha: Meal Planning gives me the structure of a plan but the flexibility to pivot if my schedule changes. Following my Favorite Meal Strategy, I can create a plan for the week in about 15 minutes and not have to worry about it the rest of the week. Some of our go-to dinners are Crockpot Swedish Meatballs, Instant Pot French Dip Sandwiches, and Mayo Baked Chicken.
Tara: Your site offers a variety of seasonal decor and easy entertaining tips. How do you come up with fresh ideas to keep celebrations fun and stress-free?
Melisha: Most of my tips for time-saving celebrations stem from my desire to enjoy spending time with my family and friends instead of being stuck in the kitchen all the time. Anything that can be done ahead of time, from prepping food to gift bags, will make the celebration even more enjoyable. Organization is key to time-saving!
Tara: With so many responsibilities, finding time for yourself can be challenging. What are some self-care practices you recommend to other busy moms striving to maintain balance?
Melisha: I used to eat lunch at my computer and work late into the evening, but that led to burnout. To keep from getting stressed out and overwhelmed, I take breaks regularly by taking my dogs outside several times throughout the day. I take a real lunch break and watch one of my favorite shows while I eat, and I make moving a priority with a walking pad in my living room for easy access. And you know what, if I’m particularly tired in the afternoon, I stop and take a power nap.
Tara: Faith seems to play a significant role in your life. How does your faith influence the content you create, and in what ways do you hope to inspire your readers through it?
Melisha: My faith is at the center of my life, and I’m driven to help others because of it. Sharing systems and strategies to make mundane tasks like cooking family meals more efficient is how I help busy families gain a little extra free time in their lives. I also create printable wall art with Bible verses that can be displayed around the home as a reminder that we are never alone.
